Recent updates for Local Chapters

as of 5/2020

In order to offer a greater amount of flexibility to all Youth MOVE MN groups as we continue to navigate our new normal:

  • Groups can operate within existing organizations/programs and will not be required to adhere to a prescribed structure, so long as mental health education and peer support are a key ingredient in the group’s activities and those activities are reported to the co-coordinators

  • Rather than sending each group a check, all groups will be able to apply for the funds they need to deliver mental health education, plan and execute community awareness events, and support standard group activities

  • Local groups will each appoint a representative to serve on the Youth Advisory Council

  • We will continue holding bi-weekly check-ins for group advisors that will also be open to other youth-led programs we partner with. Our hope is that these meetings will facilitate the development of a coalition of youth leadership groups so as to build and disseminate a unified message and offer state-level policy recommendations based on that message.
