  • Propose a project now and complete it for the following issue

  • Artists must be Minnesota residents between the ages of 12 and 22

  • Artists selected to participate will be paid, with commissions starting at $30

         February Issue/Episode

          Applications due: Dec. 8th

There are several ways to get involved...

Voices of Experience Podcast

This podcast will include stories and interviews about mental health in general, with a focus on youth with mental health disorders who have been affected by mental health, education, criminal justice, and/or child welfare systems.

Propose a project in one of these categories:

  • Creating and producing a podcast segment

  • Creating an original song or spoken word poem

  • Composing music for the soundtrack of the podcast

Voices of Experience Online Magazine

This multi-media online magazine will feature artwork, videos, articles, and creative writing by youth with mental health disorders.

Propose a project in one of these categories:

  • Visual art in any 2D or 3D mediums

  • An article in written or video format

  • A non-fiction story in written or video format

  • Creative writing such as a short story or poetry in written or video format

Safe Guard: Allies Against Bullying Comic Book

Help elementary students learn strategies and concepts to prevent bullying by creating a comic book using the heroes and bullies of our Safe Guard: Allies Against Bullying project. Read more about them here.

We are looking for:

  • Writers who can write a bullying prevention story

  • Comic book artists who can bring a writer's story to life

Fidgety Fairy Tales Digital Storybook

Fidgety Fair Tales re-imagines familiar fairy tales to raise awareness about children's mental health. Usually performed as live musical theater productions, we are adapting one of the stories as a digital storybook for the first time. Learn more about Fidgety Fairy Tales here.

We are looking for:

  • Voice talent to read the story or play a role

  • Visual artists to create illustrations for the story
