SOC Youth Engagement Specialist

I joined the MACMH team in September of 2019 as the System of Care Youth Engagement Specialist. I work closely with a dedicated team of trainers who serve as technical assistance for the counties, regions, and tribes involved with the Minnesota System of Care Project. Prior to taking on this new roleI I worked as a substitute teacher for the Minneapolis Public Schools, as a teaching artist for Stepping Stone Theatre, and as an arts and play instructor for Adventures in Cardboard. I have dedicated the majority of my artistic career to addressing issues of mental health through performance (Loom Lab Productions), film, storytelling events, and a podcast (Mental - Rethinking "Crazy").  I hold a BFA in Theatre Arts from Stephens College, and am a proud alumnus of the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists. I live in Minneapolis with my fiancé, Julia, and our two pets, Hobbes (woof) and Gus (meow).

Director of Arts and Youth Engagement

I have been a part of the staff at Minnesota Association for Children's Mental Health since 2004.  Since 2008, I have written and directed twelve productions of Fidgety Fairy Tales - The Mental Health Musical and recently coordinated an LGBTQ+ Musical raising awareness about mental health issues for LGBTQ+ teens.  I taught creative storytelling, theatre, and critical literacy at the Children's Theatre in Minneapolis from 2000 - 2019 and taught in the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at the University of MN - Twin Cities from 2000 - 2014. About 10 years ago I learned that I'm on the autism spectrum.  I live in St. Paul with my husband, Paul, and across the street from my 20-year old son, Jadon.
